Rachel Root L.Ac. is a California State licensed acupuncturist with a postgraduate training Women’s Health and Chinese Orthopedics. Her passion is helping women connect with their bodies and feel in control of their health and hormones. Rachel implements her knowledge of Chinese medicine and herbal therapy, vitamins and supplements, nutrition, and functional medicine training to create a treatment plan that creates profound changes in the women that she works with. Rachel works closely with fertility and pregnancy and well as menopause, PCOS, and other hormonal imbalances. Conditions treated include:

After completing her B.S. in Kinesiology she was interning at a physical therapy clinic when she discovered acupuncture and Chinese medicine. It was while working with an acupuncturist that she saw a major shift in her personal health and hormonal struggles. She became passionate about Chinese medicine and its approach to healthcare, which individualizes each treatment and addresses the root cause of illness.

Rachel earned a Master of Science degree in Acupuncture and Herbal Medicine at American College of Traditional Chinese Medicine in San Francisco, and has a B.S. in Kinesiology from Arizona State University. She completed a clinical acupuncture certificate through the Zhejiang Chinese Medical University in Hangzhou, China where she received advanced training in gynecology and orthopedics. Her treatments include a gentle needling technique and therapeutic shiatsu that supports relaxation and restoration.

Karinn Casey Gallagher, MSTCM, L.Ac, CMT

Karinn’s core belief is that we all possess the natural ability to heal within, but sometimes we lose our footing and need some guidance finding our way back. As a California Licensed Acupuncturist, Herbalist, Certified Massage Therapist and Reiki Practitioner, Karinn customizes her skill set to provide each individual with the most effective treatment, meeting people where they are, and developing goals to restore her patients to a state of balance and joy.

Karinn received a four year Masters of Science in Acupuncture and Herbal Medicine at American College of Traditional Chinese Medicine. During her time, she has completed certifications in Tui Na manipulative therapy, Shiatsu, Abdominal Chi Nei Tsang massage, as well as Facial and Cosmetic Acupuncture. As an acupuncturist and primary care provider, Karinn sees patients for a wide variety of conditions, though often treats fertility, natal care, pain treatment and management, as well as digestive disorders. Karinn’s love affair with Northern California began in 2005 when she moved to Lake Tahoe after attending undergrad on the east coast. Her hobbies outside the clinic include road biking, skiing, sailing and relaxing in the mountains. She has spent a lot of time in the last few years traveling to places like China, Bali, Thailand, and Mexico. Her passion for exploring the world is matched by her desire to enjoy life, which is what we were all meant to do.

Greg Zimmerman is a licensed Acupuncturist and Doctor of Traditional Chinese Medicine with 20-years experience. He has an extensive professional background in traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), classical Chinese medicine, Chinese orthopedics and tuina, martial arts, qigong, and meditation.

After undergraduate studies in bio-chemistry and biology, Greg began his study of Chinese medicine at the Tai Hsuan Institute in Honolulu, Hawaii. From there he continued to study at South Baylo University in Southern California until his graduation and board license instatement. He then took up advanced Chinese medicine orthopedic studies with Professor Gu Hua and training at Beijing’s Dongzhimen Orthopedic Hospital. After the completion of his Masters degree in traditional Chinese medicine he began to work as an herbal formula consultant at Brion Herbs Corporation/Sun Ten Inc. There he continued to work as a professional consultant and company representative for more than a decade while making time for continuous clinical practice and further medical studies. Over the past ten years he has focused his studies on classical Chinese herbology, acupuncture, pulse and abdominal diagnosis.

His clinical services include traditional Chinese acupuncture and moxibustion, herbal formulas, and therapeutic bodywork. These various healing modalities are often combined dependent upon the nature and circumstance of each individual’s specific medical complaint during the course of treatment.
