Meet Our Acupuncturists

Greg Zimmerman, L.Ac. is a licensed Acupuncturist and Doctor of Traditional Chinese Medicine with 20-years experience. He has an extensive professional background in traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), classical Chinese medicine, Chinese orthopedics and tuina, martial arts, qigong, and meditation.

After undergraduate studies in bio-chemistry and biology, Greg began his study of Chinese medicine at the Tai Hsuan Institute in Honolulu, Hawaii. From there he continued to study at South Baylo University in Southern California until his graduation and board license instatement. He then took up advanced Chinese medicine orthopedic studies with Professor Gu Hua and training at Beijing’s Dongzhimen Orthopedic Hospital. After the completion of his Masters degree in traditional Chinese medicine he began to work as an herbal formula consultant at Brion Herbs Corporation/Sun Ten Inc. There he continued to work as a professional consultant and company representative for more than a decade while making time for continuous clinical practice and further medical studies. Over the past ten years he has focused his studies on classical Chinese herbology, acupuncture, pulse and abdominal diagnosis.

His clinical services include traditional Chinese acupuncture and moxibustion, herbal formulas, and therapeutic bodywork. These various healing modalities are often combined dependent upon the nature and circumstance of each individual’s specific medical complaint during the course of treatment.

Karinn Gallagher, L.Ac., CMT Karinn's core belief is that we all possess the natural ability to heal within, but sometimes we lose our footing and need some guidance finding our way back. As a California Licensed Acupuncturist, Herbalist, Certified Massage Therapist and Reiki Practitioner, Karinn customizes her skill set to provide each individual with the most effective treatment, meeting people where they are, and developing goals to restore her patients to a state of balance and joy.

Karinn received a four year Masters of Science in Acupuncture and Herbal Medicine at American College of Traditional Chinese Medicine. During her time, she has completed certifications in Tui Na manipulative therapy, Shiatsu, Abdominal Chi Nei Tsang massage, as well as Facial and Cosmetic Acupuncture. As an acupuncturist and primary care provider, Karinn sees patients for a wide variety of conditions, though often treats fertility, natal care, pain treatment and management, as well as digestive disorders. Karinn’s love affair with Northern California began in 2005 when she moved to Lake Tahoe after attending undergrad on the east coast. Her hobbies outside the clinic include road biking, skiing, sailing and relaxing in the mountains. She has spent a lot of time in the last few years traveling to places like China, Bali, Thailand, and Mexico. Her passion for exploring the world is matched by her desire to enjoy life, which is what we were all meant to do.

Edith Nuñez Baza L.Ac., CMT offers a holistic and integrative approach to health-care. She is driven by a desire to provide compassionate care and facilitate personal growth and development for people on their paths to greater health. Edith is a big advocate for empowering each patient to understand how self-care and lifestyle habits can greatly affect their well-being and self-healing abilities.

With extensive experience in acupuncture, positional release, tuina, shiatsu and herbal therapies, Edith creates effective and personalized treatment sessions to guide each individual toward optimal wellness. Each treatment heightens relaxation and awareness, decreases pain, increases mobility and restores overall well-being. Her areas of expertise include rehabilitation of acute injury, chronic pain, stress management, women’s health, and facial acupuncture.

Edith is a licensed acupuncturist by the State of California and a doctoral candidate at The American College of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Her academic background includes extensive training in various forms of therapeutic bodywork and a four-year graduate degree from American College of Traditional Chinese Medicine. She received advanced training in women’s health and pain management through the Zhejiang Chinese Medical University in Hangzhou, China. For nearly 4 years Edith studied alongside Dr. Edith Ubuntu Chan and Johnson Chiu, both known for their exceptional work as holistic sports medicine practitioners.

When she’s not seeing patients, Edith enjoys yoga, breathwork, meditation practices, and traveling. She loves spending time outdoors, soaking in the sun, and watching the skies.

Daniel Metzger, CMT is a licensed massage therapist specializing in shiatsu and positional release therapies. He also offers Reiki and is attuned to the 3rd level of the Usui Shiki Ryoho form. These techniques are used to facilitate movement toward the desired outcome whether it be musculoskeletal, energetic, or mental in nature. Sessions are designed to calm the mind and strengthen the individual from within. He strives to provide a compassionate space where healing can occur at a natural, comfortable pace. Great care is given to listen to patient goals and the body to increase awareness.

Daniel completed his undergraduate studies in Biology and Chemical Engineering. After working as an engineer for several years, he made the leap to begin the long journey toward his passion for health and well-being. He is currently completing his Master's degree in Acupuncture and Herbal Medicine at the American College of Traditional Chinese Medicine. When not working, he enjoys meditation, qigong, travelling, and spending time outdoors.
